It appears the Benny Feilhaber transfer pot is about to boil over... but the question isn't as to whether he will soon get a move away from Derby County, the question is: to where?
In the States, Soccer By Ives claims the U.S. international is in deep discussions with MLS table-toppers (and first allocation spot holders) New England.
However, earlier in the day, Aarhus GF sport director Brian Steen Nielsen told Danish outlet Bold that Derby had accepted their offer for Feilhaber. The Danish club, who regularly start U.S. attacker Jeremiah White, say they hope to have personal terms agreed with Feilhaber in the next few days.
As you may or may not remember, Benny turned down more than one option to appear at the Summer Games in China.
I'm hoping to find out exactly which way this wind is blowing on this later tonight or in the morning.
UPDATE: Danish paper Ekstra Bladet has now reported that Benny is flying to Aarhus from Beijing with his father (who is a classy guy, I can testify) to talk contract with the team and could be presented this weekend. The offer sum that Derby accepted was reportedly €300,000.
UPDATE ON THE UPDATE: I have confirmed with Benny's agent, Lyle Yorks, that he is in Aarhus right now to seal the move. "I expect everything to be settled in the next 48 hours," Yorks told NSC.
FINAL UPDATE, I SWEAR: Benny has joined AGF.
