A few things...

Eight days until my true love returns...

#1 - Well, it seems David Beckham is going to spend a few months on loan with AC Milan starting in January. I'm not sure how I feel about this yet, but at least now maybe I can actually get a recorder to his face for the first time in ages. Between all those years in the Prem and his oft-limited MLS availability, I'm shooting for an exclusive.

#2 - Sorry for the delay on the last post. As expected, I made myself dizzy with Indonesian food and the post ended up being much longer than I had planned. And then my computer started going Sybil on me. I gave up when it was almost done and passed out... so sue me.

#3 - Nat Borchers told me he will be ready to go when Real Salt Lake plays their biggest match ever at Colorado on Saturday.

I didn't include it in the story, but he made a great wisecrack to me about the difficulty of simultaneously having food poisoning and a neck injury when it inevitably came time to... erm... expel the sick. Poor guy, that sounds awful!

And then I go and mention it here! For that alone, I'm pulling for an RSL win this weekend.

#4 - Unless I'm mistaken, MLSNet's Jeff Bradley is the first to drop his All-MLS Team for 2008. Check it out here.

#5 - With Oguchi Onyewu's Standard the odd team out on Matchday One of the UEFA Cup group stage, Aston Villa are the only team with Americans to do battle in the competition on Thursday.

From what I understand, Brads Friedel (starter) and Guzan (back-up keeper) will be hosting some team from Amsterdam.

#6 - You can expect both a quick bit with KC Wizard Claudio Lopez and a full feature with Hammarby's Charlie Davies over at Soccer365 some time Thursday. And I have now figured out how to convert my sound files to mp3... if I can master the editing, I will post a couple of clips from my talk with CD.

UPDATE: Somehow, with the angle I positioned my recorder to the speakerphone, the Davies sound file has a ripping bit of inter-machine feedback, so posting a couple clips from that is out of the question. The article will still go up later today.
