Happy Thanksgiving to everyone back in the States. For the first time abroad, I will actually have a real Thanksgiving feast, thanks to some industrious/curious Dutch pals. I am bringing my Hall of Fame cornbread stuffing, some sweet taters and the first scratch pumpkin pie I ever tried. It's almost done... smells really good... but I remain skeptical I can pull it off.
UPDATE: The pie was a hit. Of course, most folks there had never had pumpkin pie before, so they really had no comparison. Hmmm... I'm gonna count it as a "W".
In any event...
#1 - My USMNT World Cup erect-a-roster column is up at S365. Feel free to mercilessly slam me either here or by email.
#2 - We only have one American in UEFA Cup action tonight as Oguchi Onyewu and Belgian champs Standard visit Partizan Belgrade. This is a huge challenge of an away game, but if Gooch and the boys can get a win, they will be looking sweetly positioned for the next round.
UPDATE: Gooch & Co. pulled off a 1-0 victory on the road tonight, giving them a perfect six points from two group matches.
#3 - The best breakdown of Seattle's expansion draft picks from Wednesday can be found over at Soccer By Ives.
#4 - Columbus Dispatch ace Shawn Mitchell writes about trying to keep the champs together, an effort which should see Guillermo Barros Schelotto bumped up to Designated Player status (and pay, of course).

like your picks except i dont see conrad and to a lesser extent califf making the team. marshall would be a better pick, imo, at least for now. when was the last time conrad even got a call? also i dont see rico and pablo making the final cut.i believe that sk will be starting there with edu backing them up and i think one of the younger guys will that 4th cm spot. maybe danny or torres [plus he can play out wide, which makes him more valuable].
so to clarify: your roster minus pablo, rico, conrad [and califf if neven picks us]. but overall good picks, and in the end you are the expert, so what do i know? have a good thanksgiving.
Well now, if you asked who I predict will make the team, I'd give different answers. Those choices are the "if it started today" choices.
For the four spots you mentioned, I am predicting it will be Gibbs, Subotic, one of Clark/Mastroeni and one out of Beckerman/McCarty/Szetela.
As for Sacha, he's no CM in that formation. He'd tell you that himself.
