A few things...

I'm clearly too excited to sleep past 7 now. Excellent. Super.

#1 - Okay... here's the deal. My Euro-silly season Top 5 List has been chopped up three days in a row by a news item. It's pissing me off. So I'm tossing this one out and shall come up with a fresh new unmolested topic.

And yes, it would have been fine had I posted it on Monday - although I would have only gone 50/50 on a pair of particularly strong Spidey Sense predictions with faster-than-expected reveals.

Let's just say I'm perturbed Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is off to Real Madrid, even if I understand it. That Top 5 List was bad luck.

#2 - By the way, if you're wondering who I think the Godenzonen will get to replace the aw-shucksiest goal monster ever, my money is on Groningen's Marcus Berg (even if some of the folks down at the ArenA prefer cheaper option Ricky van Wolfswinkel of Vitesse... yes, that's his real name).

#3 - Frankly, I'm surprised and more than a little disappointed with Roy Keane for quitting as Sunderland coach. I just am.

#4 - Soccer By Ives comes up with an intriguing MLS trade possibility involving Chivas USA and New York. Hmmm.

#5 - It's a few days old now, but please don't miss Luis Arroyave's Red Card post about his MLS Cup weekend. Gold.

#6 - FC Dallas is being chopped up good; Juan Toja went, Kenny Cooper is going, Pablo Ricchetti wants out and Duilio Davino is heading back to Mexico. At least, the front office won't have to narrow their search for players because positions of need will soon be covering the field.

Of course, this all makes one wonder who the DP signing will be... just tell me it's not Ariel Ortega.

#7 - Football365's John Nicholson with a different kind of UK article about soccer fandom in America. Do get the last comment on the list, though. Hehe.

#8 - German tabloid Bild (for what it's worth) says Mexico defender Aarón Galindo is ready to return to Cruz Azul from Eintracht Frankfurt... Chad Marshall opening, anyone?

#9
- The Kansas City Wizards open tryouts are back. Think you're the next Kevin Souter? Get all the info here.

#10
- The Daily Mirror needs a new name.

Yesterday, it ran a blurb that claimed West Ham would clean house of several players, including U.S. defender Jonathan Spector - as in the Jonathan Spector that West Ham just signed to a contract extension two weeks ago.

How about "The Make Sh*t Up"?

#11
- Speaking of fun with facts, you may see rumours suggesting that Fiorentina are now in hot pursuit of Borussia Dortmund center back sensation Neven Subotić... disregard them. La Viola have not made contact with the former U.S. youth international.

#12 -
I knew there was one link I forgot to post: Rennes defender Carlos Bocanegra takes part in a US Soccer podcast, and you can listen here.

#13
- The Distracter is coming. Run and hide. It sings all day and makes you... do things. Crazy things.

O_o

Okay, then. Time for peanut butter toast and last night's 30 Rock. I may add more later.

UPDATE: Last night's 30 Rock was the best of the season so far.

You talk about the Distracter like it's the man keeping you down, but you, Greg, are the great Distracter! I can't get any work done with your blog always updating! Please stop.

Thanks for the props, Barry.

However, The Distracter is neither male nor keeping me down. Just really, really distract-y.
