After taking in Gala's 3-1 win at Gençlerbirliği on Friday night, L'OM scouts were on hand to see Gooch & Co. shame Club Brugge 4-1 in their own house on Sunday.
If accurate, the report teaches us that last week's news of an official Marseille offer for Onyewu was premature... and in turn, this would mean there is another Ligue 1 team in the running, one that has actually already made a transfer bid to Standard.
My money remains on Lyon (first place) or PSG (second place) as the other suitor.
Meanwhile, it appears Hammarby have broken off talks with Sochaux and Charlie Davies will remain with Bajen at least through the summer. Manager Tony Gustavsson has stated the American will be staying for now.
I will try to get a word about all this with Charlie - who, by the way, narrowly missed out in the Hammarby Player of the Year voting last week. The departed Petter Anderson (now with FC Groningen) edged Davies 35% to 34%.

It is still very early, could Hammarby just playing hard ball to get the most they can?
That very well may be the case. I'm trying to holler at Charlie. We shall see.
Very good! Supports the blog master!
