I have a bad news confirmation for USMNT fans: as recently boasted by coach Raddy Antic, Borussia Dortmund backline sensation Neven Subotić has decided to play his international soccer for Serbia. It appears, after several false leads, we got the real story this time.
I have learned that the former U.S. youth player has now handed a written request to the U.S. Soccer Federation to make an allegiance switch and Serbia have filed the necessary paperwork with FIFA, with both of these submissions occurring yesterday. The next time Sunil Gulati is asked, he will admit all of this.
It now appears a mere formality that Subotić will suit up for his ancestral nation - and that stateside fans have a new gripe against the USSF.

“I’ve played through residency so I’m an American. And I’ve worn the crest, and thats also a thing you have to respect, yea, if you wear it once, you’re not gonna wear another crest. That’d be kinda like backstabbing I would say…and that's what I plan to do.”

I am finally glad it is over, though. What a freaking ride, right? No more threads about Subotic - well, only as much as Rossi gets for now on. By the way, the above quote is 99% his own words.. I just added "and that's what I plan to do."
I still do not know whats is so spectacular about subotic he is not a striker,or a midfielder and we still do not know if he is good enough to run with our big dogs...So far only asumptions...only assumptions and by experience I know that we can't live dreaming...
Hmmm... he's a 20-year old Bundesliga sensation being chased by three top 30 national teams and Juventus/Napoli, who received a vicious "hands off" from BvB.

I was getting so excited about Bocanegra-Subotic-Onyewu-Cherundolo. Sigh.
So Neven is been chase by 3 super soccer teams...? Are we still using the keyboard to assume that he is a super star..? Figo was a super star in 2002 but that did not save his team from an azzwhoop by USA...And that is history no keyboard bullsheat...
From here on in any time Neven Subotic is referred to on this site or any you contribute to, you should call him Benedict Subotic. What a traitor!

Serbia has a very promissing team (to say the least) and with Neven where he belongs, we will only get better. And yes, I would freaking love for our two national teams to meet. And my guess is that we'll skin you like a friggin' goat. Just as we did your "dream team" in semi finalls of b-ball in 2002. In the middle of Indiana, cradle of basketball, muahaha! That felt badass, if you only knew...
