UPDATE: Kljestan off for Parkhead talks

For crying out loud! I kinda know something and I can't say anything. I've now got very two unrelated bells going off with the same alarm here.

You probably won't be shocked if it goes off, it has been mentioned among all the things that get mentioned.

Oh man, this is killing me!!!!

UPDATE: Now three separate bells. It's a three-alarm fire burning right through my typing fingers.

UPDATE UPDATE: All I hear is ringing phones. This is torture!!!

UPDATE³: Well, my big cat is out of the bag before I could get the confirm I wanted. Chivas USA ace Sacha Kljestan is on a plane to Glasgow with a view towards completing a Celtic transfer.

So I lost the actual scoop of it all, but that's how it goes sometimes - can't risk putting a source in trouble for the honors. I was hoping to get the full details first thing in the morning.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I am going to go smash everything that ever existed...

  • The MLS SuperDraft has begun with Seattle taking Akron striker Steve Zakuani #1. Toronto FC followed by grabbing Wake Forest midfield maestro Sam Cronin and Los Angeles tabbed Maryland center back Omar Gonzalez third. None of the advertised swaps have gone down yet.

Follow all of the proceedings here.
  • AaB finally unveiled Marcus Tracy with my shirt number of choice, #19. Niiiice.

My birdie on this had it spot on, too. Three-year deal. Gotta love a good birdie.
  • North Carolina defender Sheanon Williams is auditioning for Wolfsburg II. He came on as a halftime sub in Wednesday's friendly and pitched in a late goal.

He previously has trained with FC Twente.
  • Soccer Insider Steven Goff has revealed that erstwhile Duke forward Mike Grella is on trial at once mighty Leeds United, who now reside in League One.

Can we get a hint?

The player is human. :D

Nope, sorry. I'm trying to get to where I can tell you everything. And ohhhh, 'tis goooood.

But for now... lip zip.

Well, in that case, I guess it'll be the refresh button every 5 minutes for the rest of the day...

BTW, goes w/o saying, but thanks for the hard work to dig up and confirm stories. The internet has precious little in the way of traditional journalism (i.e. confirming stories through multiple sources) and its nice to get them.

Well, I'm not super hopeful of getting it soon or even today, sadly. The involved parties seem out of reach for the next several hours.

Greg,

do you know anything about Romone Rose? theres a thread on him over at bigsoccer he plays for QPR who list him as an American but he's also listed as English on some websites and it appears nobody can figure out where he's actually from, he looks to be pretty promising though.

by the way, I also really enjoy the blog and all the work I know that goes into it, it's great having somebody track down the American's abroad and get some inside info, I just hope you can let us know whats going on soon.

Also, I just wanted to say that Arrested Development is by far my favorite show ever and it's nice seeing it get some love. The AD refrences you throw in every now and then always get a laugh from me, so keep em coming!

Thanks for the kind words, Thomas. I will spill as soon as I can, believe me. I don't want to hold it too long and have someone trump me! :D

As for AD, the references shall continue, but I'm itchin' for that movie to start production!

Such a tease.

You should relieve your burden and just get it off your chest. It's not healthy to keep secrets, you're putting yourself in medical danger. You'll feel much better afterwards, I promise.

You now have your own thread on BigSoccer specifically dedicated to your big news. Stop making us speculate!!

Okay, this must wait until morning. Sorry, everyone!

Looks like Ives got your scoop?

You got it, CommonSense.

Am I the only one that thinks we might not hear much from Kljestan if he moves? I'm not sold on his abilities at all, especially not translating to a harsh, physical league. I know some US fans defend him to the death, but all I saw in Kljestan this past year or so was a pure turnover machine.

I had a strong suspicions Kljestan wouldn't be staying stateside too long...the kid's got great vision - the thing he needs is speed of decision making, which hopefully a few years in Europe will bring.
