The T Word

I don't have much today, but I didn't want you to feel neglected. I know... I'm a giver.
  • I have no idea why Marcus Tracy wasn't presented today by Aalborg. Maybe they have another signing coming and want to unveil both at the same time. I can confirm he is in town, though.

What number might he get? NSC pal and AaB nut Poul-Henrik Worm figures it will be either #10 or #11.
  • It looks as though Kamani Hill won't be headed for D.C. United. The outgoing Wolfsburg flank man recently told local daily Wolfsburger Allgemeine, "I want to stay in Europe."

I would imagine he will sign up somewhere shortly.... right?
  • I mention this now because it slipped my mind a few days ago: Neil Hlavaty, last seen helping Cleveland City Stars claim the USL-2 crown, is on trial with Swedish third flighters Östers IF, who have been relegated twice in a row now (so they obviously need players).

The team, who employed American keeper D.J. Countess while in the top flight, currently feature former Toronto Lynx defender Tyler Hughes.
  • Soccer Insider Steven Goff reveals that Preston North End (the club which I consider my favorite in England) had a superior offer rejected by MLS top prospect Steve Zakuani. Interesting.
  • One more, and again I just flat forgot to mention it: RSL left back Ian Joy is working out with 3.Bundesliga promotion hunters Fortuna Düsseldorf. He's likely headed back to Germany after a season in MLS, and he's got good reason, so no guff from anybody. I'm not sure why I had to say that... my readers have class. Duh.

Also, I would again blame this oversight on The Distracter, but I have actually been informed that (apparently to simplify all matters) everything will always be my fault until the end of time. I have accepted this edict.

I'm hoping for some juicier fruits to pluck in the coming days.

Good luck to Ian Joy. I loved watching him here with RSL and he was a fan favorite off the pitch as well. He had some hard times to work through with injury and I wish him "Alles Gute" at Fortuna - a team with a loyal fanbase in a wonderful city.

Too bad RSL didn't see this coming so they could have protected Nate Sturgis in the expansion draft and left Joy unprotected to pursue a return to Germany.
