[Photo: Stabæk IF]Potential U.S. Under-20 World Cup midfielder Mikkel Diskerud has rung the bell again for Norwegian top flighters Stabæk. The second half sub paid the price to score mere moments after coming on as his team advanced to the NM Cup second round with a 5-0 Sunday romp at third division mites Sander.
The full highlights are here. If you're in a hurry, the play which ends with Mix's goal starts around the 3:56 mark.

I think Diskerud is good, but that league man, I don't know...
I definitely think our top D1 programs could survive in Denmark and Norway leagues, and definitely in Swedens league.
I am fine with players starting out there but if Tracy, Davies, Parkhurst, White, Feilhaber, Perkins want to be in the US MNT future they've got to continue to move up.
Sounds like Hammarby lost again today.
What are the odds Davies is there past summertime? Hopefully 0%?
If Charlie keeps scoring, he'll move. And it seems as though we will have several Ligue 1 and Eredivisie forwards on the move this summer. Hmmm.
Any thoughts on a system that would suit him best?
I think, ideally, he'd be able to run off an athletic target-type in a 4-4-2 diamond. It would allow him to pop up anywhere on the front line without being crowded.
Some Dutch clubs are now using this (Heerenveen, PSV), but he may have better luck with that in France or Germany.
I do agree with the assessment Young Ajax boss Aron Winter gave me after Charlie's Ajax trial: he's not quite a winger and not quite a true #9, so he'd be happier in a two-striker set.
