for the day.In April 1999, Michael Jackson showed up at Craven Cottage unannounced as a guest of owner Mohamed Al-Fayed for a League One clash against Wigan.
Jacko walked around the field beneath a Fulham umbrella before donning a Cottagers scarf to sit in the Riverside Stand and watch them win 2-0.
In 2003 he appeared at Exeter City's St James Park (capacity 8,830) as a guest of his
psychic friend and Grecians owner Uri Geller. But Jackson and Geller failed to work their magic as Exeter dropped out of the Football League that season into the Conference.
More recently this April, Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand revealed Jackson had phoned him to invite him backstage at his London concerts this summer, and to arrange an interview for a magazine Ferdinand is launching.
“Michael was my boyhood hero," Ferdinand said. "I used to pretend to be him all the time."
Another fan was Holland star Bryan Roy, who put aside his Ajax allegiance by travelling to Feyenoord's De Kuip stadium in 1992 to watch Jackson in concert.
