A few quick notes that I hope to add to as the day progresses:
- Odense BK remain in loan talks for Benfica's Freddy Adu. And yes, I am still trying to pinpoint exactly who is/was his Dutch suitor, which will allow me to figure out whether they remain in the picture or not. As of right now, it seems they are not.
- There seems to be a rumour going around that Fiorentina are after West Ham defender Jonathan Spector. And "rumour" would be the correct term here. They may well have called to enquire, but if they did: 1) they were quickly rebuffed & 2) it would have happened right after Confederations Cup.
- Millwall claims they have had no new offers for 'inevitable' departure Zak Whitbread, but I've been told that Championship side Swansea are ready to swoop in for the defender and make a deal happen.
- Bryan Arguez played in a test match for Charleroi last night and the club has now admitted to opening loan talks with Hertha Berlin. As I said before, this looks like a go.
- Both Jack McInerney (Vitesse) and Tony Taylor (IK Start) have completed trials without an offer, though the Dutch club says they are keeping the former on their radar.

ghilas, negredo, in addition to the strikers already there.
Is your title a Jeopardy answer? I'll give you some questions then:
"What is the USA's least favorite tactic"
"What is completely foreign to Bob Bradley?"
"What is something that the USA does successfully that it abandons immediately after scoring a goal?"
Well played, sir.
Wow, Chris bringing it strong this morning.
Thanks for all the updates Greg. Didn't you say that Freddy was actually on his way to Denmark (in person, not figuratively) today or yesterday?
Hey Greg, what'd you do before Soccer365?
Hey Greg...did you hear anything about this Justin Mapp to Benfica rumor? I saw it on a This is American Soccer tweet but supposedly the rumor page was taken down.
@ Sean: Before S365, I played the role of Martin Q. Blank in the film Grosse Pointe Blank.
@ bham: As far as I know he should be there now, but I haven't really checked on his whereabouts today - been after other things. I may have something tomorrow, though.
@ Bryan: I know nothing of it, and will simply assume it was a joke being played on someone.
Bryan, a lot of people signed for Benfica yesterday. Rooney was one of the bigger acquisitions, but there were plenty of players that signed for the side.
Actually, what happened, was someone hacked the Benfica site, and created a page where it announces the arrival of any player you want.

Looks like I have just become the latest player bought from Benfica!
-- This is probably where that Mapp rumor came about.
Haha, that makes the most sense
According to Grant Wahl, Landon Donovan has Swine Flu.
@bhamhawker
Bham wouldn't necessarily mean Bellingham would it?
