Could this be true?

I knew Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco was supposed to be a heckuva soccer player, but now he's claimed on Twitter that he could actually go join pal Ronaldinho at AC Milan if the NFL experiences a work stoppage.

Is this possible? Has anyone seen him play at a charity event or something?

Watch... if he goes, suddenly everyone will be making "if they played soccer" XI's of guys playing other sports.

Ugh. For that alone, I hope the NFL irons this out. I love XI's, but hate those.

Never watched him play, but I have a tough time thinking Milan would offer him a contract.

I could see him training with the squad, but nothing more than that.

Yes, he's going to play for Milan right after he beats Michael Phelps in a swimming event.

Would prefer to see him play MLS. But Esteban OchoCinco ego is bigger than the MLS itself. Trying to imagine the celebrations after goal scoring. Giving CPR to a soccer ball? Riverdance? Please don't fine me MLS commish signs? I would tune in, that's for sure.

I remember seeing an interview one time where he said soccer was his true love, but he chose american football so he could stay in America. Don't know how based in reality the second part of that statement was though.

From what some football folks have told me (ones that actually follow soccer and have some decent info on OchoCinco himself), he's a pretty impressive player. If nothing else, he's a great athlete.

That being said, it'd be hard for him to even get a game in the MLS because he wouldn't be able to adapt to the speed of pro soccer quick enough.

He was supposedly pretty well thought of as a junior soccer player, but he was told pretty early on that football was his way to support his friends and family.
