As you might expect, we have plenty of things going on today. Two or three plenties worth, actually...
#1 - Let's begin with my double interview with Real Salt Lake strikers Robbie Findley and Yura Movsisyan.
Other RSL tidbits:
- Rogue Cavaliers Brigade blog Denz's Sopabox has interview videos
- Have a ticket but no flight yet? RSL charter knows the way
- James Edward sizing up the RSL v LA experience factor
#2 - And now we grab some Galaxy articles:
- Michael C. Lewis on the kooky L.A. season
- Conference final sets espn2 record
- Tension turned to harmony, says Beckham
#3 - And then some random MLS Cup and league stuff:
- Snowden Says: MLS execs are too uptight (and he's right)
- Know those cool TV stats at World Cup? We get them Sunday
- GolTV's Phil Schoen gets excited, breaks down final
- The Don sayeth: Garber speaks on the state of MLS
- Beau Dure: Avoiding strike won't be easy
- Kyle McCarthy bits: Hamlett, Schelotto, Gen. adidas squadlist
#4 - Here is tonight's USMNT 18 that will face Denmark. I will start the LIVE post with the line-ups when they are posted in about 1.30 PM ET.
#5 - It seems erstwhile Chivas USA coach Preki is talking with Toronto FC.
#6 - As I told you, Ricardo Clark will almost certainly leave the Dynamo for Europe. The surprise is that Houston is openly admitting this already. I say... good for you , Houston.
#7 - While again watching the playoffs from home, the Colorado Rapids have been busy putting the pieces back together... literally.
#8 - 1860 Munich forward Kenny Cooper becomes the latest USMNT player injured, but it's not so bad. He will only miss three weeks or so and maybe even get a game before the winter break, so put away the prozac.
#9 - NSC pal Adam Spangler rocks an interview with ooh la la Vietnamese celeb Lee Nguyen, who sounds like he wants to play for FC Dallas next season.
If he does join up, I'm thinking he goes wide right unless there is a formation change - he ain't gonna displace Davide Ferreira on day one, that's for sure. I'm also thinking 'damn, FC Dallas could be nearly unstoppable next season'.
#10 - S365 co-hort Andrew Rogers rips into England good, suggesting that they played weekend friendly foe Brazil as if they were the USMNT minus all the heart.
Ouch. To a Brit footie observer, that's like... one of the nastiest assertions one can make, isn't it?
#11 - Ireland have been talking a big game all week, playing up hope of a World Cup qualifying miracle in France tonight.
Erm... not so fast, Beavis McShea.
#12 - You may have heard about this. I'm kinda wishing I hadn't. Robin van Persie is probably having placenta fluid massaged into his ankle right now.
Yeah, you read that right.
I don't know, man. I hope it's not that miraculous. Some corporation will get wise, and... ugh. No. Don't be magical. Just don't. Be slightly helpful, maybe. Tops.
#13 - Finally, FIFA has acted like the Egypt bus actually was attacked in Algeria the other day. And hopefully, the security upgrades made for the one-game playoff in Sudan are enough.
That game is on now, live at FIFA.com.
#14 - Do you remember that silly trailer clip I played for the film about Liverpool's Champions League final rally win against AC Milan called 15 Minutes That Shook The World? Remember when I said I wasn't sure if it was just a joke trailer or a real movie?
Well, it is a real movie. And predictably, the Liverpool stars that took part may catch flak for some sassy Man United characterizations done in the flick.
