#1 - In case you hadn't heard as I slept, MLS and the players have extended the CBA deadline to February 12th. Me thinks an agreement is not far off.

#2 - Speaking of the business of American soccer, USA Today ace Beau Dure is set to come out with a new book - Long-Range Goals: The Success Story of Major League Soccer. You may pre-order it here.

#3 - I did not realize that ESPN's Jeff Bradley was filing a daily diary from the African Nations Cup. Looks like I found out just in time, eh?

Again, I find it silly that this tournament can't even get the final broadcast in America.

#4 - I was unable to reach my guy at Steaua Bucharest today to confirm, but a Romanian report indicates that Josh Tudela will not be signed by the club. I can also tell you that Vejle BK did not offer Amaechi Igwe a contract.

#5 - The Houston Dynamo are starting to look to the back-up plan for a new stadium.

#6 - This Kicker article claims that 'Gladbach steamroller Michael Bradley is among the Bundesliga leaders among midfielders in average ground covered per game. Does anyone know where to find this ranking?

#7 - The Los Angeles Sol have folded. And yes, that means Marta and Shannon Boxx will be dispersed. It was a bad day for the league and the city, but I suppose much better for the Atlanta Beat expansion franchise.

#8 - On a happier ladies soccer note, the U.S. Under-20's have qualified for their World Cup (to be held in Germany later this year).

#9 - One of the showdowns of the European season occurs Sunday when Man United visits Arsenal. The Guardian looks at what could be the key match-up: Wayne Rooney v Sol Campbell.
