Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the transfer waters... (updated)

I can report that Aston Villa right back Eric Lichaj has been loaned out to Championship outfit Leeds United for one month.

UPDATE: I should have mentioned before that Lichaj is being brought in to cover for an injured starter, so he can expect scads of pitch time.

Local beat reporter Tim Abraham of the Express & Star was kind enough to send over a couple of fast quotes from Leeds boss Simon Grayson on the move:

"A deal has been agreed for Eric to join us and we're delighted Aston Villa have agreed to let him come. He is a player that they have high hopes for and they believe him coming to Leeds will be beneficial for him and us. A few other Championship clubs were interested so we are delighted to get a player that has played international football at different levels."

I also have a story on Gale Agbossoumonde's nearly completed loan to Djurgårdens on the way and will have the new Postcard from Europe later today.

And in the interest of helping you all to keep up with my output elsewhere from the last week:

- A happy Jonathan Spector injury update...
- And another on Hoffenheim's Charles Renken
- Joseph Gyau is now up to Hoffenheim II

And this list doesn't even include Greg's story up today about all of the young attacking talent in the pipeline for the US.

It's really interesting to hear the many different routes these kids take on their way to Europe as well...

Thanks, Greg.
