On tap: USMNT v Argentina

You know the drill. 'Nats v Albiceleste. Line-ups and eventually highlights in a new post. Player Ratings at MLSS after. And I have not forgotten about the Jay DeMerit docu-film "mini-review" - that is coming tomorrow.

Who would I like to see start? Well...

Howard; Lichaj, Onyewu, Bocanegra, Bornstein (prior success v Messi) or Spector (form) - Edu, Bradley (freshness) or Jones (form), Diskerud - Donovan, Altidore, Dempsey

If I'm not mistaken, we have Creole potato & chorizo empanadas in the reading room. The NSC chef is either being cheeky, geographically ignorant or he's been watching too much Modern Family...

- USMNT match notes
- Grant Wahl's Top 5'er game preview
- Noah Davis' MLSS game preview
- Jack Bell on Messi & Co.
- As always, Andrea Canales has questions
- The Shin Guardian breaks it on down
- ... right on down to the floor
- Goal with a U.S. Arg. history review
- Win Donovan's shirt (or a piece of one) for a good cause

Finally, this is kinda odd. I commented directly after the guy who won this competition to put the motto on this new red USMNT shirt. I was in the middle of suggesting something like "Never give up" when his popped up. So I simply said, hey, this guy's is way better than mine, it's perfect, that's a winner. And then he ended up winning. True story.

The Distracter asks you please use a coaster in the video lounge...

I'm a bit jealous of George Vecsey on this clip. A year before World Cup 2006, I tried to talk the USSF into letting me embed with the team from Cary to Germany for the purpose of writing a book on the team's tourney from the inside. They ended up saying no because of plans to do the same from in-house... which never actually happened. I'll try it again one day, you can be sure of that. Anyway... here's the resulting article.

Finally... I don't speak Spanish, but I'm sure plenty of you do, And thus, there's no need to leave out this Leo Messi chat about the game.
