The Post: USMNT v Paraguay (updated)

I've renamed this one where we gather the line-ups, pre-game thoughts and eventually highlights and reaction. It figures to be easier to find these that way for any later reference.

Tonight, Tim Howard, Oguchi Onyewu and Benny Feilhaber are not dressed. Thus, this is what I'd like to see: Yelldell; Chandler/Lichaj (half each), DeMerit, Ream, Bornstein - Edu, Bradley, Diskerud - Donovan, Altidore, Agudelo.

Line-ups expected shortly...

UPDATE: We're back to the original recipe bucket.

Hahnemann; Chandler, DeMerit, Ream, Bornstein - Dempsey, Edu, Bradley, Donovan - Altidore, Agudelo

I do not understand the exclusion of Diskerud and I do not condone another start for Dempsey, who has played 16 Fulham matches since Christmas (which is 95 days) and had little summer break last year.

The U.S. Under-20's are also set to kick off World Cup qualifying (a ka the CONCACAF Championship) against Surinam. We'll have their highlights here, as well. Their line-up:

MacMath; Garza, Kitchen, Agbossoumonde, Valentin - Okugo, Rowe,
Lletget, Wood - Doyle, Gyau

Enjoy your soccer evening. I'll have clips here and U.S. Player Ratings at MLSS after the game.

Coach Bradley was quoted as saying something like both Diskerud and Ream were "having trouble with the speed of play" in the Senior MNT camp. I.E. Bradley doesn't think he's up for the challenge yet. (Yet he's starting Ream, illustrating our lack of options at centerback?)

Also, Mix's season just began. Hopefully he tears it up in Norway and is involved with Spain and the GC. His problem is he plays CM/RM, which we have many options. Ream was very nice last night -- it was nice to have a silky passer out of the back.
