Do not quick draw with Rangers, mister.

Lemme tell ya. This Carlos Bocanegra to Rangers move happened fast. And I mean lightning round fast.

This is a strange hour for Scots to close a deal and it makes me think they think they can get 'Los registered before Thursday's Europa League trip to Maribor (fellow Wednesday mover Alejandro Bedoya is not available for selection, by the way). I can also tell you this thing was not a glint last week and Saint-Étienne tried to insist in public that Bocanegra was not for sale just this morning.

I'm gonna see what else I can find about it all in the aftermath. But one thing is for certain on this day: the Teddy Bears were not S-ing around, man. And we may not be done with surprises yet. A lucky 13 summer shopping days remain...

Crazy. I'm going to have to start to like Rangers if this keeps up.

Is he expected to slot in back with David Weir? I cant imagine they'd pay for a 32 CB/LB if he wasnt expecting to come right in and play.

I'd say more likely with Goian.

'Los was a captain for St Etienne, wasn't he? Wonder what the fee was?

Started following 'Gers when I was just a pre-teen and found they're from my great-grandfathers neighborhood of Glasgow. Paid closer attention when one Sir Claudio of Kearney signed with them now it's the American invasion! Who says you can't build a top notch team out of American players!

Greg,

Thanks. Are you on this whole Landon Donovan thing or is it bunk?

1 - See if you an find a single one of these "several reports" they claim exists.

2 - Have any of us ever heard of this site before?

3 - Everton has no money to spend unless they sell.

I'd go with bunk.
