This just in... (updated)

As if it couldn't get crazier, Ajax has filed a police report with the finding that last night's jerkface pitch invader should have never been allowed into the stadium. The 19-year old was already handed a stadium ban for prior trouble with stewards. As it turns out, this fantastically stupid person has set himself for criminal charges well beyond what I originally anticipated thanks to his father procuring him a friend's season card. Entrance security checks at the ArenA vary some by section... this ticket corresponds to a gate that is very low risk, such as one would expect where the disabled and their families enter.

So what now? Well, the Ajax fine probably jumps, even if the KNVB realizes that this incident really comes down to one obviously troubled dimwit messing it up for pretty much everyone and that routine security measures don't stop everything. The club is both mortified and angry. I suspect they would be unlikely to raise much stink over any ruling. As for AZ's thinking... they are staying rather quiet today, no telling what that means.

My main wish is that we find the best way to remove this idiot's impact on this particular game. I worry that may not be possible.

UPDATE: Police have revealed the idiot is from Almere, which is about a half hour away by train. He bears a common hooligan tattoo "ACAB" (all cops are bastards), no Ajax ink.

greg, almere is a nice little town. not for nothing, but the guy did look like an amstradamer. no harm, no foul. the punk is actually lucky he did not get his teeth knocked in. that would not have been worth fifty bucks. nor will whatever punishment he does get
