Buddle Free To Return From Whence He Came

Ingolstadt has just released Edson Buddle from his contract. I've been told he's headed back to the Galaxy. Looks like a go, multiple sources checked here.

I had been trying to nail this one down for several hours. Ingolstadt suddenly made it easy for me. And somewhere, Eintracht Frankfurt execs are cursing...

Off topic, but if you're Everton, do you take Donovan's passport and refuse to let him leave the EPL?

Personally, I think they'd have been better off spending the Jelavic money on Donovan.

How can the galaxy afford Donovan, Buddle, Becks, and Keane?

Are we sure one of those isnt leaving?

I'm assuming they need to move a player or two out. Obviously, Chad Barrett looks vulnerable to being moved. They've already removed Birchall (seemingly), Leonardo and Berhalter from the ledger in the last six months.

juninho left, but leonardo is coming back. lots of allocation $ too, i'm assuming..

Yes, thank you, I named the wrong Galaxy Brazilian. Sleepy boy over here.

juinho was on loan (90k) and they just won MLS cup.

barrett is on 192k and birchall is on 144k.

How can they have so much allocation money?

Just saying, its still tight financially.

Besides, isnt half the defense due pay raises? Between DeLagarza and and Sean Franklin?

I'll get off my soap box now. I just wish DC had the resources to compete.

The real wonder is how Chad Barrett gets paid $200K to do what he does. Buddle is a huge pickup for the Galaxy.

strago, what are you talking about? dc united have more titles than any other team. are you following what kind of team they are putting together. they are going to be very special this season.

Wow, Everton must have negative dollars to be throwing away Saha and Billy-tooRussiantoospell, and they didn't even sign Buddle. I'd like to think they're opening salary space for Donovan, but that's fantasy stuff.

As for Ingolstadt, unless this is purely a salary issue, what a @#$&ty way to treat your most productive scorer.

willem-

Everton brought in Jelavic from Rangers and Pienaar is back on loan from Spuds so that is where the Saha and Billy money went.

also, I'm assuming that Donovan isn't really an option for Everton for the same reason bigger clubs aren't going after Dempsey. It's that fact that their clubs would require substantial transfer fees to let them go (on top of their wages) and that they are at the age where they will have little or no resale value at the end of their contracts.

adikranovich,

Sure, DC has the most trophies, but the game is passing them by.

DC United cant compete financially with LA, NY, Seattle, Portland, etc. Will Chang doesnt have the same financial clout as Red Bull and Uncle Phil do.

Until we get our own stadium and more money to pump into the academy system....There's no excuse why someone like Junior Flores isnt playing for the youth system of DC United. That has to be fixed.

strago, i guess im not sharing your bleak picture of the team. dc united do have some pretty good homegrown talent, players which are represesnting internationally. no stadium in the usa can match rfk for soccer atmosphere.

this just in, dc united sign its forth ever dp, an albanian goal scoring machine. looks like dc united is stocking up to make a run at all competitions. as poor as dc united has been, they do have two supporter sheilds over the last six years. thats not to shabby.
