Ha! Tim Ream's wife Kristen should know by now American soccer nuts are a skittish type.
Here's the just-confirmed skinny: All agreements are in place for the move to Bolton. The frustration Mrs. Ream had yesterday was in regards to rescheduling her hubbie's UK work permit hearing. It would seem that Wanderers are trying to get approval before announcing anything.
So everybody can take a deep breath. Everything's fine. Have a nice glass of milk and relax.

Anyone want to talk about how Tim Ream isn't good enough to play in the prem? No? OK.
I'm sure Arsene Wenger, Roy Hodgson and Owen Coyle would LOVE to discuss that topic.
They should. He anchored a terrible defense in NY, was slow against speedy MLS attackers and has shown little at the national team level.
Yes I'm telling you these guys are wrong and that I know Tim Ream better than they do. My ego is enormous.
I'll even present some evidence. This is just off the top of my head as there are more examples but this is the most memorable.
Check out goals 2 and 3 for Sana Nyassi in this game. Keep in mind this is Sana Nyassi doing this and not a proven MLS striker.

Greg, you can't avoid Twitter as a news source. You just can't.
Oh, I just assumed everybody was all worked up about her, "Is it true? Johnny Depp split from Vanessa Paradis??" tweet. I guess I was the only one.
I gave up on Ream as a top-tier USMNT defender after the Gold Cup disaster, but I'm always willing to reconsider. He's still relatively young. England could either expose him or launch his career, but I doubt there's any middle ground. My inclination is that the outcome will align more completely with the former, but as I said, I'm always willing to reconsider if the performance should warrant it.
The biggest knock on Ream, to me at least, is the way he gets pushed around. He can be slow, but if he can read the game and at least look like he might hold his own in a physical battle then he has a chance. Otherwise he's a tinier, less effective Clarence Goodson.
no need to rush that ajax v. AZ replay thread, we all know the score.
:/
I was not aware that we recapped every match here. The most interesting part of it has been covered.
@ Matt: You underestimate how stubborn I am. :D
@Greg: You underestimate how long I've been a regular NSC reader. I know *exactly* how stubborn you are. One of the reasons we love it here...
The "gold cup disaster" amounted to one stupid play when Ream tried to do too much by reaching around a defender with his leg. It was stupid and inexperienced.
Ream's confidence got rocked, but by the MLS playoffs he was showing what he showed as a rookie: intelligence, good reads, outstanding distribution. Maybe he will never be a first option for the Nats, but as should be obvious from the interest in him, he has many outstanding qualities. I'm not surprised by a move to the EPL at all
