"It's a world of laughter, a world of tears... "

The January 19th replay between Jozy Altidore's AZ and Ajax will be a romping room indeed, as children will be comprising 85% of the audience at Amsterdam ArenA. At this point, Ajax are basically telling schools to bring all the kids for the afternoon do-over. I may need to go witness this for myself. From what it was, it could turn out to be the adorable match ever played - like Junior Masterchef but with soccer.

For one night, anyway, Jozy can feel old. And super large. Like a dinosaur. RAWR!!

Adorable? Maybe? It could also turn into Lord of the Flies...

I'm a big fan of this solution.

That's funny, Adam. I think Greg is showing his colors as a non-parent. As a parent of two young 'uns, I think the Lord of the Flies outcome is quite likely. Hell, maybe one of the little ones will charge the field. Wouldn't surprise me one bit...

I've had a young child to care for in the house, I know how it is. To be honest, kids don't bother me, even when they're being bothersome kids.

That's good. But, to be clear, things only get TRULY interesting when you have more than one kid in the house. Not saying you don't know your stuff, just saying that until you have to switch to zone defense to keep up with the kids (i.e., your outnumbered), you're still just in training mode. It's when you have a pack of children that the madness begins..

I've been there, too. I have a good way with kids and animals. Adults, don't tend to get me so well.

Look at the ratio of children to adults. 1-2 kids are enjoyable. A classroom of children with one adult is manageable at points. Multiple classrooms could be problematic. I am not talking about violence or the such, just an unwieldy group. Could get interesting. I recall debacles on previous trip with my class mates at Omaha public school in the 90s!

We paint a rosy picture of parenthood, I'm sure. It's fun living with little sociopaths. Trust us!

I promise, man, I know what it's like.

just as a little sidebar to the kiddie talk, it could be noted that a danish fan was just charged 300k+ for attacking a ref during a european qualifing match four years ago. and interestingly enough. denmark were docked three goals and awarded the loss for the fan indiscretion, which of course was blamed on intoxication

The first image that popped into my mind was of that little Feyenoord kid giving the opposing team the finger multiplied by 30,000.

Ajax kids are too busy fixing their hair for such boorish behavior.
