Back home goodies

I suppose it's not what you'd typically expect from me, but this Ughday morning, let's talk about a few MLS transfer scenes...

- A while back, we told you a couple of MLS teams were after Roda JC freebie striker Mads Junker (who is among the most consistent Eredivisie scorers of the last five seasons and was the top FC Nordsjælland gun while Heath Pearce was there.

I spoke to his agent this weekend, and for now, the offers in America are taking a back seat. He's set to train with Belgian side Mechelen and has other European clubs sniffing around. For what it's worth, a Belgian paper claims one of the MLS suitors is New England.

- The weekend Gazzetta dello Sport let slip that free agent Nocerina left back Alberto Giuliatto is coming over to trial with Toronto FC. And if you're wondering about foreign player slots, don't; he's Italian, but apparently with one Canadian parent.

- Italian papers also have TFC in for free agent Fiorentina defender Per Kroldrup, who puts the injury in injury-prone. I'll be able to say more later, but for now I will simply confirm he has multiple MLS suitors, as well as several in Italy and across Europe. As it stands, it looks like there will be stiff competition for his signature.
