It's not so much that my predicted champion - Holland - didn't make it past the group stage, I mean, that messed up plenty of people. No, what's really crunching my crackers is the fact that two of my best friends, my girlfriend and my 11-year-old brother are all beating me.
Fifty-five NSC readers can lay claim to the same accomplishment. Perhaps you'll be prouder to know that means you're also beating Greg. And now you know why we get stoked when these things actually do pan out for us.
Of the NSC names I recognize, Jon Wallace (T-4) leads the pack with 11 points. Apologies and congrats if I missed yours. The scoring for the group stage was two points for a correctly predicted advancing team and one point for picking a team to advance that did so, but in a different position (ie. A1 as opposed to A2).
For the quarters you get two points for the right team advancing and another two if they advance from the right position. I'm not sure how this will work out, but I figured I'd let you know.
Blogger Standings

Our semi-finalists

Best of luck to you all. I'll check in after the quarters next round.

Ah, the sweet sweet taste of fame. Damn the Russians for making me look a fool though.
@Tee Glad we could help (sort of).
@Jon Wallace Silly Russians, crashing out of a group you should totally dominate is for the French! Or not.
