It always kinda freaks people a little when I tell them that, yes, some European countries actually broadcast and follow MLS matches. I can't say for sure who all shows the games at a given moment in time, but at last check there were "MLS Game of the Week" telecasts in places like England, Portugal and Spain. Hell, the league is becoming a hot item to bet on in Denmark. Seriously.
Don't believe me about all this? Well, one industrious member of the Swedish media (which actually holds a fair few NSC fans) has made not one, but two Top 5 Lists offering suggestions for summer signings by MLS clubs, complete with his favored club destination. Perhaps some of them are a bit far-fetched, but I feel that just gives an impression of the growing respect for America's top division over here.
See? Some Europeans do actually pay attention to and care about MLS.

Haha, sweet. I forgave the far-fetchedness given the (translated) subtitle: "Semi-Realistic and fun canvassing ideas for MLS." Anyway, Diego Forlan seems more reasonable than say Wesley Sneijder (ahem, Jonah Freedman...)
When they say "Toronto, givetvis!" as a lead-in for why Boulahrouz could be a TFC target, I can only assume "givetvis" means "my god no" in Swedish.
Probably offsides
sort of related...the Guardian (uk) always has heaps of material devoted to MLS. Is there a yank secretly pulling strings there or what? I mean, is there really an audience in Britain for our league. I find that rather amazing. p.s. love the blog.
ok the one mentioning Elm this was the translation: I'm fucking not completely sold on their midfield. Middlesbrough's' Player of the Year"
I guess they really are more open in Scandinavia. ;P
