It turns out that Michael Bradley recently turned down an ambitious approach from Ligue 2 outfit Monaco (who have watched Mikey since they temporarily employed Freddy Adu) - but my suspicion of an offer from outside Serie A was only correct-ish, as it was missing a layer.
I've now been informed that the most recent competing bid for the US midfielder actually came from Fiorentina and that he has rejected both of these options. So... the two competitors have proven no match, leaving the Roma comfortably in the driver's seat. My birdie assures that the Bradley transfer is down to the final flourishes, only a day or two away from completion. This person also intimated that the Giallorossi coaching staff is dying to play with their soon-to-be new toy.
Sticking with the Roma theme, I've also been told that El Salvador has signed on the dotted line as their Red Bull Arena opponent on the 27th of this month.

Hmm... Go from Serie A to Ligue *2*, oh jeez tough choice. :P Can't fault their ambition but oi, kind of an embarrassing offer...
Love hearing that Roma are anxious to start experimenting with him. I think with De Rossi on the shelf for a little bit, Mikey will have this whole preseason to win a consistent starting spot.
You are truly the best Greg.
not for nothing, but the higgs boson is much bigger news then a maybe offer from roma. because as everyone knows, a deal aint done until it is done.
Fantastic insight as always, dik...
i would like to see a soccer game in fenway park though. the fermilab of stadia.
when is this going to be finalized…seems like the 'due date' keeps getting pushed back.
Welcome to life. :)
would love to read more about these clubs. in terms of how good a fit they would be for Bradley. what sort of pressures will he discover at Roma, for example, that he might not find at Monaco?
@worth: ask and you shall receive. http://www.noshortcorners.com/2012/07/michael-bradley-tactical-implications.html. wow, this is awesome, NSC should be renamed the People's Blog. Thanks Will.
