I hate to do this, but...

You may have recently seen this article or one like it claiming that Stuart Holden was resuming light training with his Bolton teammates. Sounds wonderful, right? Small problem: the club just told me he is still doing his rehab program back in America.

English tabloids...  always there when you need to wrap a fish.

greg, im sorry, but where in the "article" did it say he would be training with his teamates? you want some stu holden news, how about the fact that he has a new number for the new season. he will be kicking off 2012/13 with the number 22.

You are aware that his teammates train with Bolton, yes?

well greg, the first thing that jumps out at me is the fact that this link you offered up was not even really an article. it was more of a headline, which only stated that #22 was on the comeback trail.

and really, the headline has a one liner just below which looks like it was based on the quote which is further down the page. the quote says nothing of holden training with his teamates, or with bolton., mearly of him resuming light training.

hey, if im going to eat fried fish, it will probably be a fish taco, not arthur treachers.

It was merely the first one I grabbed, there are others. Not that it matters because you're being adversarial for the sake of being adversarial based on clear avoidance of roundly known context.

And not to be adversarial back... but I used to LOVE me some Arthur Treacher's. Until Chic-Fil-A came along, they were the only place that fried in peanut oil, which is basically just about the best thing ever.

Oh... and fried fish on a fish taco???

Dude, beautiful grilled fish goes on a fish taco. What are you doing?

fiddlewinks, you are right about the fish taco. i always thought i was eating a lightly battered fish inside a taco.

but as for the link you provided, nah, you aint right about that and its not being adversarial just for the sake of it. there is no article, thats the point, just a headline, and a quote, neither of which says anything about him training with the team. the snipit under the headline was nothing egregious.

As stated, it was one of many such articles. Here is another:

As to your number question, I'm told he opted to take Jääskeläinen's #22 because he feels it is lucky.

Umm...

STUART HOLDEN will resume light training with Bolton tomorrow after a serious knee injury.

dikranovich said...

greg, i did not have a question about holdens new number.

dikranovich said...

greg, greg, greg. the article says nothing of holden being in bolton with his teamates. try again!!!!

Greg Seltzer said...

Chick-fil-A? Such horrid moral implications! I can never read this blog again, because it is tainted with pure vile repugnancy.

</sarcasm> (but seriously, Chick-Fil-A has some seriously horrid moral implications)

I have no desire to promote or eat at Chic-Fil-A for that very reason. But, factually speaking, there is no denying that the secret to their business success is frying in peanut oil, and hence the mention.

Frankly, I always wonder why no other places switch to frying in peanut oil. It's simply the best, in just about every way.

dik, why are you trolling this board. make your point and move on. this kind of annoying back and forth is for other places that shall not be named.

dikranovich said...

andres, trolling, come on!!! please, take that back. greg made some comments, and i took exception, now he wants to talk dexter and chic fila.

What season of Dexter are you on Greg? One of my favorite shows (used to be #1 until Breaking Bad came along). Seasons 1-4 are great. Kind of tails off after that. I'm excited for the new one coming up it looks promising.
