Lookin' at my Gucci, it's about that time. (updated again)

It's been reported by numerous Italian outlets this morning, but I can now confirm that Michael Bradley has arrived at Hospital Gemelli for his Roma medical. Once completed, he will ink a four-year deal, then fly off to Riscone di Brunico preseason camp.

And th-th-th-th-that's all, folks! Thanks for taking this long and winding ride with NSC for these last 14 months.

UPDATE: Bradley has passed his medical with flying colors. Roma are expected to officially announce the deal this evening, once the Italian stock market has closed for the day.

Oh, and for any converted new Roma fans out there, their right back search has now turned to a freebie, erstwhile Chelsea man José Bosingwa.

UPDATE UPDATE: As of 8 pm Rome time, I'm told some minor 'formality' is holding up the works. Bradley won't be off to the Riscone camp tonight, but maybe tomorrow. I'll sound the NSC alert and quickly have a full MLSS report when we finally put the bow on this thing.

Now to the most pressing issue at hand. What number will he wear? FWIW, FIFA 12 automatically put #12 on him when I transferred him to there. Definitely thinking about picking up a Bradley shirt.

Number 6 is open...

Huzzzahhhh!

Great work Greg

Oh, even better.

I don't know why but I'm a big proponent on traditional numbers. Would be amazing to have an American as the #6 of Roma. Not that it makes any difference but still...

Greg,

What do you know about all these Lampard rumors to LA? Is Landon on his way out?

Greg Seltzer said...

Not much, but I can try digging a little.

As for Donovan, I would certainly not be stunned if he ended up moving to Everton.

Landon needs something. If he goes to Everton and plays like he has the last 4-5 months he'll be crucified.

He just doesn't show any passion whatsoever in my eyes. He's diving and whining all over the field.

I'll always be grateful for what he's done in his National Team career and for US Soccer but he's not a top player right now.

Back to Bradley. What sucks for us Americans is that the Serie A TV rights are now held by the new beIN Sports USA which will most likely only be on one of the TV providers. We're going to be scrambing for streams.

Rob,

FSC doesnt have them anymore?

RobUsry said...

Nope. The new Al Jazeera owned channels won the rights.

Ya know what? I take that back, #6 is not open because it was retired for Aldair.

Unless there is a number shuffle from last season, that leaves 12, 13, 17, 22, 23 (Greco's number), 25, etc. However, I sense a shuffle if Taddei (#11) leaves. Perhaps Lamela could eventually slide to that shirt, opening #8. I guess we must wait and see.

Actually, #19 is also available, as Gago is not coming back.
