In the Mix, Out of the Mix

Let's quickly sharpen the Mikkel Diskerud picture a little, shall we? I have learned that:

  • Mix has trained for two days with Rosenborg, who now appear to be the frontrunners. He will leave there without a deal, but negotiations are expected to continue.
  • A Danish Superliga club has rescinded its offer for the U.S. midfielder. Let's say I "51%" suspect (as in, don't call this a regular full confirmation, more holding a somewhat strong hunch) that the departed party is Odense BK.

Also, I can reveal from sources close to the situation that a third Top 5 Amsterdam Killer Eats list is simmering in the kitchen. I've eaten lunch at #1 three straight days.

Hey Greg, I don't know how often you delve into Asian soccer but do you know anything about Gotoku Sakai? Born in the US but on Japan's Olympic team.

A bit. And I can't imagine right now that he'll ever turn out for the Nats.

I think Mix would be perfect for the Eredivisie. Hope you can sniff out the identity of the club

Alex, Gotoku is half-German and half-Japanese. Went on loan to VfB Stuttgart from last year from his Japanese side and is headed back to VfB this season. In the build-up to his transfer never heard much about his international career except he was born in the States. Grew up in Japan and has no real US connections.

Greg, obviously a lot can still happen in a month, but does your gut say Clint stays put in this window?

Suggested write in for your list, Greg: Il Tramezzino.

At worst I wish he'd come to MLS. Would be a lot easier for Klinsy to notice and monitor him.

Poor Mix... I think he is one of the big losers in our U-23's missing the Olympics... It would have been a big opportunity for him to showcase his talents on the international stage... Would hate to see him simply move teams in the norwegian league... Would love to see him move up a league or two... An Eredivsie side would be great... or even a quality team in the Juliper league...
