Gatt-ling Gun (updated)

Molde FK winger Josh Gatt has just used his considerable speed to brûlée a pair of Vålerenga defenders before opening the scoring after only three minutes. The Roadrunner (trademark) now has goals in three straight league games and six for the season, second-best on the team.

UPDATE: Full highlights or just the Gatt goal, your choice here.

I thought he had five league goals on the season coming in to this game (at least that's what soccerway tells me).

You are correct, sir! For some reason VG.no is missing one of them.

Jebus he *is* tremendously fast, isn't he?

I wonder if he will be playing for the Nats next year; similar to Charlie Davies in 2009. He kinds of reminds me of Davies with his speed and finishing touch.

Sooooo Mr Seltzer...about that "I just need to check one more source about Clint Dempsey" from last week. Is that source still alive?

Could we just perhaps get a small teeny-weeny nugget of news. Please. I'm currently on my knees begging. No really.

Can't wait to see this guy running a wing for the Nats.

Small problem, Jonah: that source is staying mum at the moment. So anything I could offer you would be unconfirmed.

Greg, with all the very specific Sunderland rumors floating about this morning, I have to think that if they were true, a reliable source would have no problem confirming them. There's no risk in confirming a player is having a medical, for example, if it is in fact true. The fact that your sources (who we all presume to be reliable, for good reason) are staying quiet amidst this storm of conjecture to me all but proves that it's just that - unfounded conjecture. Hopefully we're just seeing the downside of social media in action (i.e. the exponential relaying of false information to the point where the veracity of the initial source is untraceable) and any meetings taking place today involving Deuce are with LFC or newly-funded Spurs!

sunderland seems to be making more and more sense. this club is owned by a texas billionaire business man. good manager at sunderland as well. the irony that louis saha and deuce would be the two big former fulham scorers should not be lost on anyone either. sessignon is good though.

Dunno Dik, I've spent some time trying to separate the wheat from the chaff and Im convinced he'll be wearing a Luverpool jersey next week. Betting the Cole sale to WHU is the key domino.

for me, there is just so much more honor to playing your way into the champions league then just being given it.

sunderland is being built to do things, not for nothing, but so is everton, but maybe there is just not enough money there. either team is the second team of its respective city and that makes for good fan support and fulham is like the fifth or sixth team of its city. come on deuce, lets get cracking bro!!!! we got serious business ahead.

Dik the Sunderland rumors are nonsense. Dempsey's either going to LFC on deadline day or will end up in a terrible mess staying at Fulham. The club is stubborn but not stupid enough to let that happen so I expect a late deal from Rodgers after he sells spearing and maybe Adam.

dikranovich said...

soccertes, what do you think is bigger nonsense, dempsey to sunderland, or sturridge to liverpool?

Soccertes said...

Dikranovich, Dempsey to Sunderland is bigger nonsense because they just spent 22 million pounds on Fletcher and Johnson. Billionaire oilman owner or not, they aren't likely to put up 10 million more for Deuce. But more significantly, Deuce wouldn't go there. Unless perhaps it was his only choice, but the more reputable papers in Sunderland are now reporting he's not on the club's radar. This whole thing's an inexplicable mess, and in such scenarios I usually fall back on Occum's Razor: the simplest solution is usually the correct one. It seems right now that LFC is the simplest solution. They sell another player, Clint is in. But then again, who the f*&k knows? The only sure thing that should come out of this is that Deuce should fire his agent. No way a competent rep allows a player to place themselves in such an untenable situation and PR shitestorm. Shame on Lyle Yorks or whoever he is now.

Right now my "sources" are saying Dempsey deal virtually done, medical tomorrow, annoucement thurs, but who knows....

To LFC, that is.
