Your Europa League group phase draaaaaw!

Sorry about the weird title, I was pretending to be a stadium announcer. Let's get to the business, clubs employing Americans in italics. Just for fun, we'll stick an asterisk next to clubs that could conceivably add an American today - take that cautiously as you wish, but I'm not explaining or taking questions just yet.

Clubs listed in order drawn by pot, ties kick off on September 20th. As you can see, we're set for some "all-American" clashes:

Group A
Liverpool*
Udinese
Young Boys
Anzhi Makhachkala

Group B
Atlético Madrid
Hapoel Tel-Aviv
Viktoria Plzeň
Académica

Group C

Carroll out (on loan) + Adams out = Dempsey in? Apparently said no to my Villans.

Spearing to the Trotters as well... It's on, gentlemen. Greg, don't think we're ignoring the glaring asterisk next to Bordeaux, our heads our merely spinning...

I love that any post on NSC, so long as it's at the top of the page, becomes fair game for Transfer Madness commentary.

Uh, Jon Carter at ESPN's 'deadline day' commentary just said that 'pool have "have made a move to sign Clint Dempsey". Shit, I'm afflicted! I have the Madness!

c shilling, thanks for your list. reading this list is like a whose who of WTF negotiations. who can forget jozy altidore going to club xerox on loan, a team that had a gun running owner, and one that had no intentions of playing our boy.

now this group wants to send boca to a second division spanish side which is soon to face financial troubles. this stuff would kind of be funny if it was not so serious.

credit to lyle york for going to UVA, but damn, that seems about it to me. it hurts to see our players getting such horrendous guidance.

That's funny... you seemed to think Edu-to-Stoke was pulling a rabbit out of the hat a few days ago.

I told you, man; don't assume as fact. Assume as assumption, as the word indicates.

dikranovich said...

no greg, you seemed to think that stoke had less competition at center mid than at center half, and we now know that to clearly not be the case.
