Seriously... what the hell is he thinking?

I have listened to Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas' explanation for dropping Brad Friedel for Hugo Lloris this weekend, and I would not buy it for a nickel. My tea leaves say this is an all-out GK coup. Even if it is not, I find it extraordinarily disrespectful to pull this crap after Friedel helped snap the club's eon-long win drought at Manchester United the same week Lloris looked weak at Panathinaikos.

So now, apparently, a team fighting in the top reaches of the table does not have a #1 keeper... surely, that idea will work wonders, as will the notion that superior play no longer carries weight in Tottenham's line-up creation. It's all quite amazing, really.

Greg, I agree. I'm both an American and a loyal Spurs fan. I was pumped when we signed Lloris but believe it's Friedel's job to lose, and there's no way he's lost it.
I listen to the Spurs Show Podcast "spursshow.net" and even a few of the Brits agree.
I haven't had too much of a problem with AVB of late but this did not make me happy.
