Because normal goals are too mainstream ...

Clint Dempsey created an own goal and laid in an assist for Emmanuel Adebayor in Tottenham's 3-1 win over Panathinaikos at White Hart Lane. The win sends Spurs through to the final-32 knockouts.

Dempsey's helper allowed Adebayor to open the scoring in the 29th minute. And in heading a 76th-minute inswinging free kick from Kyle Walker off the crossbar, off the ground into the back of keeper Orestis Karnezis and ultimately the goal, Dempsey gave the hosts a lead they never relinquished.

Both were Europa League firsts for Dempsey this season. The draw for the rounds of 32 and 16 will be held Dec. 20 and Spurs are unseeded.

deuce taking a second london club to the finals of a european tournament would really do wonders for his legacy.

if tottenham can get healthy, they will make a run and some good teams have dropped into the europa league, to set up some nice matches in the new year.

#2 just needs to keep pushing and playing his game. the fact that he is playing spurs fans like a stradivarius makes it only extra special.
