Tottenham ace Clint Dempsey served up a pair of goals sandwiched around an assist as the hosts advanced to the FA Cup fourth round with a 3-0 defeat of Covertry City. The brace took Deuce's season total across all competition to six.
UPDATE: Even though the Texas Tornado did not complete the hat trick, we have one in his honor. The quick highlight reel, his post-game interview and his appearance on Soccer AM Showboat from Friday.

that demba ba, he is going to be a freaking wrecking ball with chelsea. my god!!! jozy, this is a player you want to look up to and try and emulate. ups, energy, and mad skills. i bet this guy bags 20 goals the rest of the way, and he is not even allowed to play in europe, and thats not including the two he had today.
I dont know why, but i cant stand Dikranovich
look deeper misael, look deeper.
@ Jolazo: Yes, it's six, not seven. I posted this quickly on my way out the door with guests from Peru and dang Transfermarkt incorrectly had him with seven at the time. I didn't think about it, which is when silly mistakes sneak in.
Deuce's second goal demonstrated his return to form and nasty desire he plays well with. Running across the box, he jumps in from of another Spurs player to angle the ball into the far side. Deuce is back and playing with vengence--both good signs for the US in this new year.
