Defense first today. Then Jozy can come on in the second half. Don't forget there is some good long term value if USA can keep Jozy on the bench and still pick up three points on the road .
Timmy, Jozy might be our most natural scorer, and that is a huge part of being a striker. Deuce can play a lone striker and with zusi and Gomez on the wings USA have a stronger defense and deuce can stay fresher up top as opposed to running the wings.
A big point here is who do we want coming on as a sub Jozy or Hercules and I think the answer is Jozy Altidore
Win this game wth Jozy riding the bench and the rest of concacaf will know that USA went into San Pedro sula without Jozy or Donovan and picked up three points. That is huge psycologically HUGE!!!!! Reporting live from 10450 ft. Munching a wonderful waffle with strawberry and Nutella
I'd give anything for a Bob Bradley 4-4-2 or 4-2-2-2 or whatever at this point. You know, one where wingers play on the wing instead of defensive midfielders.
Man, two shots out of eleven were on target, that is not good enough. I like coach klinsmann keeping it close to the vest, but maybe he out thought himself today. We need to make this shit simple stupid. And if Benny mother fing Feilhaber is healthy he needs to be in the setup, it's that simple.
I have to ask...was anyone else appalled at the coverage by beIN? How many times did they cut away to show multiple replays while something germane was happening on the field? They need a team that is used to soccer or shows the replays with the current play as an insert.
Nice game by Jamaica, limiting Mexico to a no more than a couple of decent scoring opportunities. Jamaica created a fair of chances themselves. Mark Geiger, the US ref who officiated the Jamaica-Mexico game, was the best American on a soccer pitch today: he called a fair match, but probably provided Donovan Ricketts with too much allowance to waste time. The second half barely played out the six announced minutes of injury time.
Who would expect Jermaine Taylor to have a better game than Jermaine Jones? Wallowing in schadenfreude and cap-tying Chandler and Gonzalez were highs of a disgusting day for US soccer. Let us never speak of this day again--except to revel in the Mexico tie. (I can see that winning the Gold Cup, youth tournaments and World Cups, the Olympics, entails transcendence in World Cup qualifying.)
Yeah today went from being really lousy to turning out ok. Not only did the reggae boys tie in Azteca, but panama share the points with Costa Rica. USA is in last place now, but they can jump right up the table after this next round of games
There are no gimmes on the horizon and these fans that talk about CONCACAF being weak, they need to wake up and smell the coffee. There just are not to many easy games in competitive international football anymore. I mean Burkina Faso beat Ghana today , no thanks to some very suspicious officiating. USA needs to fight harder.

Yeah, let's talk! What's your preferred starting 11? Follow up: What's your preferred starting 11 assuming that F Johnson is the LB?
And then a follow up: if the rumored lineup is in fact the lineup, should my head explode?
(Howard; Chandler, Cameron, Bocanegra, F. Johnson; Williams; Zusi, Bradley, Jones; Dempsey, Gómez)
The lineup you posted is the most likely.
I'd like to see Howard; Chandler, Cameron, Bocanegra, F Johnson; Edu, Bradley, Jones, Kljestan; Dempsey, Altidore

I'll bite: what is the long term value of not playing our best striker?

@ Timmy: From this group, I'd probably go with something like... Howard; Chandler, Gonzalez, Bocanegra, Parkhurst; Cameron, Bradley, Dempsey; Zusi, Altidore, F.Johnson
@ dikranovich: I can always count on you to make no sense. On purpose.
But let's keep it real Greg . I'm happy you see our captain in there.
Interesting lineup construction. Two questions, who is the captain, and where is Michael Bradley stationed ?
Can Sacha be a difference maker?

We have absolutely no width. How can JK not see this?
