Thanks to an excellent 14th minute Jozy Altidore strike, AZ leads the KNVB Cup final 2-1 at the break. The U.S. ace got loose on the left, cut back to the middle behind two rallying defenders and fired through the grasp of the keeper for his cup-leading eighth of the tourney and 31st across all competitions this term.
UPDATE: It's all over at De Kuip, AZ are the KNVB Cup champs for the fourth time. And here was the decider...

What a fine way to cap a remarkable season. Can't wait to see the clip. How big of a deal is this cup considered in the Netherlands?

I think I read AZ haven't won this cup in like 31 years...so they're probably pretty excited.
judging by the scenes I'm watching of AZ supporters and the PSV team it's a pretty big deal
Are they giving out bathrobes? Is that a Dutch thing?
Thanks, Jon...
um goalie....
What a pass! Holy shit.
That was a sick pass, and a nice deak by Jozy.
