- Estoril free agent Tony Taylor will arrive at Cypriot side Omonia Nicosia on Monday for a medical. Should he pass (and I can only presume he will), the attacker will ink a two-year deal. And before you get all red about him playing in such a small league, do remember they hold a pass to the second qualifying round of the Europa League, which will be drawn today. Full report will appear at MLSS once somebody over there wakes up.
- This one is more up in the air, but don't be shocked if Mainz 05 freebie Jared Jeffrey soon turns up with an MLS club. He also has interest from the second and third Bundesligas, but those options appear that they may be set for the short end of the stick. Stay tuned.

I have been itching for some goodies Greg! Keep them coming. I need more!
Thanks, Greg!
Can you offer support (or refute) any of the following rumors:
1) Boca is heading back to the MLS?
2) Sunderland is hot for Jozy?
3) Onyewu believes he can play top flight football?
Are our Scandanavian boys (Bedoya, Mix, Gatt, O'Brien) hungering for more top-flight football to prep themselves for WC2014?
Hey Greg - what's up in Istanbul? You there to watch the U20s?
Yes - though we all move on to Kayseri tomorrow to get ready for Ghana.
I will answer all your questions in a bit, busy working on post-game reports/shoving a dürüm tavuk (for lack of a better description, kinduva Turkish chicken burrito) in my face at the moment. :)
little known fact about jozy altidore. he was second on hull city during the 09, 10 season with three assist. I think a couple of those might have been from drawing PK's, but it still is not a bad stat.
for all the service hungry people out there, adam Johnson, seb Larsson, and sessignon are not a bad group of players to receive balls from.
does anyone else like the confidence of tab ramos, think his team should have picked up all three points today? four third place slots are also available for advancement from the group stages.
Erm. You do realize that Ramos has them playing pretty much exactly the way I advocate all US levels play, which you continually bash and ridicule... right?
shut up greg!!! you dork, go take a Turkish bath, france had three times as many shots as the USA today, and twice as many on target. is that what you are advocating?
False, and totally false.

Meanwhile, back in reality...
@ Timmy:
1 - I reported on the possibility that 'Los will return to MLS six weeks ago.
http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2013/05/13/american-exports-carlos-bocanegra-likely-move-again-mls-remains-possibility
2 - Stay tuned on that, I'll have an update soon.
3 - I have no doubt he is.
@ Erik:
Sure, they all hunger for it, but Bedoya and Gatt are the most likely to make such a move soon, in that order. Again, stay tuned.
Greg, you reckon you could post a list of Yanks in the CL qualifying rounds and EL qualifying rounds to watch over the summer? The draws are coming out and I want to make sure I have a full list of who I need to follow.
I will post a UEFA Honor Roll list tomorrow - though it certainly could change some before the transfer window closes.
Greg any news on Omar Gonzalez interest in Europe? Other American MLS'ers? Can't wait to lean more about jozy/bedoya. Keep up the great work. Thanks
alright, ill go with the fifa stats over the espn stats, although fifa stats don't show saves and espn stats do, and they show cropper having made five saves, so my question is, how did france score, if they only had five shots on target? obviously a pk doesn't count as a shot on target.
at the risk of continuing to feed your personality disorder @dik, you're a complete moron. greg completely schooled you with those statistics. but of course that won't stop you from making nonsensical rants and idiotic observations just so that somebody can respond and you can feel like you have some meaning in the world.
paulinho, there is no reward, without risk, or something like that. actually, I think the fifa stats might be wrong and the espn stats are the more accurate.
could that even be a possibility? that fifa has its numbers off. espn does have the shots broken down by player. its a tough call, and if im wrong, im an ahole, and I am anyway, but if im not wrong, I think on this one, an apology will be in order.
paul, I do like how you raise the age old question that if nobody responds to a comment, is it actually a comment. what came first, the comment, or the question?
I am really excited at the prospect of Jared Jeffrey coming home. We need as many classy US-born midfielders in the league as possible. Come home!
Also, did Jared ever even play a single minute in a Bundesliga game?
Danny Williams to Reading according to SSN.
You got anything Greg?
How long is very soon, Greg?! I need a hold over before the Gold Cup roster announcement tomorrow.
I'm not sure Jared Jeffrey is good enough to play in MLS.
No, I haven't seen him play, and I'm happy to be proven wrong, but I've seen a lot of talented-young-Americans-who-couldn't-cut-it-in-Europe come back and flame out real quick. Arguez, Ferrari, Renken, Szetela come to mind real quick. I'd throw Zimmerman into that mix, too, even though he retired before returning to MLS.
While I greatly desire seeing more young, talented players making their name in MLS, I have an equally great desire to see MLS as a first-choice destination and not a fall back.
according to both espn and fifa, mexico had 16 shots today, but espn has them with three shots on target and fifa has them with 11. does anyone know which one is the accurate number?
Grant Wahl says Landycakes has a date for the Gold Cup - well, well, well.
and now jack mac. the past meets the future
alright, you guys want a goodie, here it is. a clockwork orange is on sundance channel and mr kubricks the shining is on ifc. its a double dose of brilliance.
here's johnny!!!!
I can't remember who asked about Gooch's current options, but at this time the word I'm getting is there's not much yet. And as for MLS, it's pretty safe to say he's not looking there just yet.
Rumor has it U17 forward Rubio Rubin has signed with FC Utrecht. You heard anything about this Greg?
Greg - Thanks for the responses (both 6/24 at 6:11pm and yesterday. I believe I'm the one who asked about Gooch. My neighbor is an agent and talks with Gooch on occasion and had a similar to yours from yesterday. He still has his heart set on a top league in Europe, but there's just not much interest out there as of yet. Gooch has always seemed like a good guy, so I'm hoping he finds a great situation.
Yeah, Gooch is a big teddy bear off the field.
Do you think he's lost anything athletically since his knee injury against Costa Rica? Was that really 4 years ago this year? My how time flies. I was in the stands that day - watching Gooch get carried off was heart wrenching.
Bony to Swansea for 12m seems to set the stage for Jozy, no?
I don't know that they are necessarily related, but I can tell you this: the figures we keep seeing for Jozy's market value is rather low and silly. If he moves, it will be for no less than about €8 million - not five.
