The Trail of Inspector Kljouseau

PLOT: The Nose (played by Zlatan) tells Olympiakos that Kljouseau will level their Matchday 6 Champions League tilt at 1-1 in the 39th minute. Finding him annoying, the Greeks do not believe him until it happens with the Inspector finishing off a lightning counter.

UPDATE: Finally, a clip that stays up.

Nice work (and maybe a lucky deflection?) from Najar to set up assist, too.

I think when it comes right down to it, feilhaber will have a larger impact in brasil over sacha. benny will be playing in front of his family and that would give him the extra edge.

if the world cup was in Belgrade, maybe sacha would get the nod.

Any goodies on where Agudelo will land? Are the Valencia rumors true?

@Dikranovich: It is highly unlikely that Feilhaber even makes the 30 man preliminary WC roster in May.

john, your opinion is always appreciated, but I would like to remind you that USA was down 2 nil to Slovenia, and it was our boy who came in and helped turn that game around. he was vital as a second half sub against Algeria, and in the knockout round against Ghana.

now these games were not in some bygone era. this is recent history.

when we discuss who should be going to brasil, benny feilhaber is someone that should be high up on the list.

I have a feeling coach klinsmann is using a psychology on benny that will have him primed come next summer.

and he did just win an MLS cup, converting his penalty, and delivering his team the panache required to get them there.

If Benny is going to be in the picture he needs some call ups! I like Benny, hope the best for him. He got he talent lets just hope his form goes up.

Might as well call up Bocanegra, Demerit, Onyewu, Clark and Findley while we're at it.

john, I have to think that out of the names you mentioned, findley has the best shot at making brasil. he still has his pace, and he looks to have improved in some of his other areas. he needs to increase his goal scoring rate and he would be almost a lock.

Greg Seltzer said...

Almost a lock, huh? Yeah, I mean he would just need to get past most of Altidore, EJ, AJ, Boyd, Herc, Wondo, possibly Dempsey, theoretically Donovan, potentially Agudelo and maybe even JackMac in Klinsi depth chart. Now is not the best time ever to be a decent US-eligible striker.

out of all the players you mention greg, only ej can really stretch a defense, but findley can also and that unique quality does give him a chance.

the point is, if he can increase his goal scoring he has a decent chance of being in the picture.

what im hearing from a lot of people is that the roster is already set, except for maybe a couple of spots, and im not so sure that is the case. players have big games coming up over the next five months, and these games are going to be real important for many players.

I count about 14 locks out of 23 places

I could not make it past the first sentence... oi vey.

dikranovich said...

greg, why do you want to shrink our player pool?

Greg Seltzer said...

We are five months from roster deadline... do you imagine this pool shrinking phenomenon is of my doing?

dikranovich said...

I don't care greg. if findley bags some big numbers early in the season, or gets some camp time and shows well, he is in the picture, as should be the case.

Oh yeah, I forgot Magee.
