Let's just squash this one quickly.

Flag's up!! No, Sunderland are not shopping Jozy Altidore around today, despite what The Mail/Twitter has to say. Sometimes it is hard to tell which is leading which around by the nose. Whatever the case, his agent has just assured me there is no truth to any of it. As if you probably didn't already realize that the moment you read it.

UPDATE: If you needed any more proof this was all made up, PSV manager Phillip Cocu just told the local Dagblad he was all done for this transfer window.

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought he was getting loaned out. Wouldn't mind it, go get his confidence back up before WC

Would prefer a transfer honestly, but not sure he could move up to a club with actual service given how he is being employed at Sunderland. Wouldn't mind seeing him at Swansea with Bony or even Newcastle for that matter.

Damnit. He would go HAM at Everton, and they need a striker in the worst way with Lukaku out.

you can't be so cocky about everything after you just completely botched the bradley transfer.

Greg - What about this rumor that Sunderland have made a bid for Geoff Cameron (possibly in lieu of or connected to the Cattermole sale to Stoke?)

Brian Sciaretta ‏@BrianSciaretta now
RT @JPW_NBCSports I can confirm Sunderland have indeed made a bid for #USMNT international Geoff Cameron. Let's see how this one plays out

@ Ryan:

Botched the Bradley transfer? I think you mean, had the misfortune of reporting exactly what Bradley's Italian agent and another reliable source close to the club told me *before* Toronto FC came in with a surprise offer. This timeline was corroborated by all parties involved after the deal was announced.

The only botch I made was here on the blog by wording it without a time stamp (as was done on the accompanying MLSS report. Of course, this blog is not necessary to my job, it is done for free and meant to be gonzo. I do my job in an honest way and then try to share that experience (good, bad or crazy) at NSC. If you have a problem with it or me, you can go take your chances with The Mail and Twitter.

I wish Sunderland were shopping Jozy. PSV would be great. Sunderland is proving to have been a terrible place to land for Jozy and I'd be shocked if he wasn't looking to leave.

@J.G. Updike & @heythisisrobbie Why would Swansea, Newcastle or Everton want somebody who has only scored 2 goals in 48 Premier league games?

And don't get me wrong I would have liked to have seen one of those teams (Except for Newcastle) get Jozy, but it was never really going to happen.
