Oh, good grief.

Stoke chairman claims they have not signed Juan Agudelo yet. Two instant thoughts: I fully stand by my story, and the antics of many businesspeople kinda freaks me out.

im wondering if stoke citys perspective interest in ashamoah gyan is something that might be snagging this aguedelo deal.

Does not matter. He signed a contract in August to join them in January and it stands. Failure to gain a work permit cannot cancel a pre-deal.

im not sure about any pre deals, but one thing is for sure, a contract must be ratified by both sides, so just signing a contract is not a full ratification of a deal, and truth is, there are probably more outs with a "pre contract". more outs for stoke city that is.

we all know how shrewd our players agents are.

If they had some magic out, they forget to tell Juan Agudelo. And all the clubs I can confirm they called up offering him on loan, such as the previously mentioned AZ.

It is very simple. A pre-deal is binding regardless of injury or failed work permit or sharknado or any other calamity you or a lawyer can think of. It is a FIFA worldwide statute.

dik--Can you please explain to me what it means to "ratify" a contract?
