Argentina 2 Bosnia 1

Bosnia managed to keep up with Argentina's powerful offense for most of the game, but fell short of taking points away due to Lionel Messi.

In a display that will play into a pre-conceived narrative of Messi using this tournament to cement his soccer legacy, the Barcelona forward tried to play the role of creator, before deciding the game on his favored left foot.

Driving in toward the center of the Bosnian box, Messi broke through past two defenders before whipping in a curled shot to Asmir Begovic's right. The ball careened off of the post and then hit the side netting on the other side of the Bosnian goal to give Argentina a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Former Saint Louis University standout Vedad Ibisevic pulled one back, in the 84th minute for Bosnia - who will be happy to come out of the game with only a single goal negative in the goal differential column after conceding an own goal in the third minute of play.

There is nothing to be scared of tomorrow, it's just a game. Of course we know also, that it is much more than just a game.

It's a statement about our intentions!!!
