I have just woken up to an ace birdie telling me that DeAndre Yedlin has had a change of heart about the AS Roma option, so the Serie A club are back in the race for his services with a vengeance. The Sounders phenom is now cool with staying in Seattle until next summer, which means Roma are again drawing close to a deal.
Hope to have more later, so stay tuned.

Just makes no sense for him to stay in Seattle for a whole year. If it were for the rest of this season, then a Serie A loan in January then it would be logical.
I don't like this at all if he really is staying in Seattle all they way until next season.
Yeah, well, the way this thing changes every seven minutes, I would not etch anything in stone just yet. We shall see, but for now this is what I am told.
So is Deandre the American player that Pallota referred to in the Keith Costigan interview?
The full interview apparently isn't out yet, but Costigan teased that little part of it.
Dunno. What did he say?
He said they would be announcing an American signing in the next few weeks.
One benefit to staying with Seattle until the summer is guaranteed playing time until he leaves. And he will arrive at Roma for their preseason which gives him the ideal way to learn their system and begin to earn minutes.
Whereas a mid season transfer could easily lead to a lack of playing time for the 2nd half of the season.

He seemed to then hint that it was Yedlin, but I don't know if Palotta confirmed that or if Costigan made the connection.
Ah, then yes. The reference is to Yedlin.
Thanks Greg!
