Your USMNT Line-Up

At first glance, you may say, WOW GREG - biggest USMNT match in 12 years and you got your wish!! Yeah, not so fast there. I will bet anyone, if not everyone, dollars to donuts that this emerges from the tunnel as the same exact set/game plan as the Nigeria friendly. The main difference is Cameron plays behind to let JJ/Bradley run wild instead of Beckerman... so yeah, I kinda did get one wish.

Strap in tight, ladies and gentleman. There are no exits. There is no air mask. There are no parachutes. We are in this only to fly, because today there is no other option.

See you on the other side with ratings, my friends.

Belgium (433) : Courtois; Alderweireld, Van Buyten, Kompany, Vertonghen, Witsel, Fellaini, De Bruyne, Mertens, Origi, Hazard

Looks like I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue.

Thank goodness we have someone like Yedlin that can run with Hazard.

Deepest talent pool in US history, and when we play negative crappy football for 80 minutes and have a chance to win, JK looks down his bench and sends in.... Chris Wondolowski.

Yeah, great guy. Lovely person, Nice, one-dimensional player. And he's the guy you send in with the world cup on the line....

Who else were u gonna send in the only other option was aj who looked very much out of his depth wondo did exactly what klinsi wouldve hoped. That is find the ball in a great position he just failedbtobexecute not klinsis problem. Reall our inability to hold the ballbor attack effectively in any kind of consistency has to dobwith klinsys pre world cup picks. Ej off form or not provides something this team lacked when jozy went down the ability to get behind defense and keep them honest. I dont think boyd was answer though. Also bedoya zusi and davis provided yeoman type defensive work but little else

That terrible Wondo miss right before extra time was our chance...

the USA had a very good chance to advance in this world cup, and no loss is ever going to be easy, and the further along they happen, the harder they are to swallow.

one day, USA is going to find some common cause, and it will change the way we play and view the game, and it is most certainly occurring now. it is slower because we have a lot of naysayers and knowitalls, but it is happening.

you got to respect the fight back and courage, and so jack mac scored his wonder goal just a little to late for consideration, we know we have him in the back pocket ready to be unleashed.

we need to keep improving and continuing to refine our game. strong defense, good on the counter, it can be a good winning recipe.

here is a question, do you need to be absorbing heavy pressure, in order to counter attack?

no dik, you dont. counter attack can happen off a bad giveaway, fast break from defending a corner, ect. we need to be able to hold possession a bit more and try to control the tempo of the game. unfortunately we ended this tournament same spot as we did 4yrs ago.

I just hope Greg goes back and searches for the first poster to suggest Yedlin for right back in this thing...

It might not have been me, but it may have.

Who is the next player to step into the LB role? Will Fabian be forced back over there? Line-up predictions for Copa América Centenario?

Heh. There's the spirit! :D

Matt, if it wasn't you it was me. I have been talking up Yedlin a long time.
