Thanks for everything, Landon.

I can sense a piece about his farewell USMNT game emotionally bubbling up, but for now let us all stroll down memory lane for a sweet moment.

The only thing that is missing is him scoring the winning goal against Belgium in the WC.

Still bitter... a bit

@ Nicholas (or whoever you really are):

You can whine like a baby and bash me or Donovan all you like. I really could not care less. Do NOT come in here with the language and sexual imagery you like to use. Everyone knows this. Cut the crap.

@ brian:

Okaaaay. So again, why are you here?

I would like to state for the record, that I am not Nicholas, or any other tom, dick, or Harry .

Also, and this is just suspicion, but I think LD will play again for the USA men's team after this game is played. Olympics in Brasil, unless they have done away with the three overage slots, but a copa America two years away, on home soil. That's a lot to pass up, and when dca united beat LA in the finals, he will want to come back for that reason also.

LD coming back from retirement to keep playing. wouldn't be the first commitment he breaks in his career. wouldn't be the second... hmm...

Greg - Completely off topic, but is it safe to assume you've seen Tommy Thompson's dance moves?

Let's get this party started right, let's get this party started quickly.

Obviously coach has a penchant for a tall center half pairing so that means brooks and Omar. Chandler on the left, or maybe garza, but on the right we get half of what will become known as the fastest right flank in the world. Dyel and joe G.

we will be in the 4-3-3 as Landon is only a striker, and he will be on the left with Jozy spearheading. Jozy needs to score tonight because poyet is watching. Actually ld can defend, at least for 30 mins.

The midfield triangle will see mix moving further back and taking on more defensive responsibilities. It's in his future, as is the MLS. Bedoya and corona working with the Norwegian- American in the middle.

BG in goal looking to pitch a shutout.

That sounds pretty much right me. Too bad there's all that background BS with the coach...

@justinwkoehn: I understand your frustration with those who are still ticked about Jurgen dropping Donovan from Brazil. The reason why people are still upset is because the issue does touch on a number of frustrations with Jurgen--i.e. his inconsistency in call ups, his tendency to dress down players in the press, his slightly dismissal of US player club progress. Jurgen's comments about Donovan today were unprofessional, and US fans can be concerned about Jurgen's lack of tact when it comes to significant, unpopular team decisions. I think Jurgen is the right coach to help the US improve, but his nous comes with an obstinance that may irritate fans and players.

Hope you can enjoy the LD festivities despite the comments of other US fans.
