I read that Prince-Wright article last week. It's terrific. Bob is a much better coach than US fans give him credit for.
Tony,
Can't agree more.
Bob is definitely a quality coach, but he's an even better person.
Unfortunately, we tend to eat our own and I think that's a big part of what happened with Bob. However, it wouldn't stun me to see him get a second stint with the U.S. MNT at some point. If a qualifying campaign ever starts to head south -- ala El Tri last cycle -- I could see Bob coming to the rescue and pulling together a side that gets the required results.
J.D., Bob would certainly be capable of coming to the rescue, but it would require a ritual suicide by Sunil Gulati first.
@Tony M: Definitely. But Bob has quite a few coaching years left in him, and Sunil will not be around forever.
