Elliot Ness v FIFA?

It turns out the feds - both the FBI and IRS - have been looking into worldwide soccer corruption for a time now, with former US Soccer/CONCACAF/FIFA exec Chuck Blazer as a major informant.

It is not a source of personal pride that I've shared a meal with this man, that I have been through the FIFA campus and buildings in Zürich. I just try to focus on the players, the teams and the games, but things like that made it hard to forget what they're all connected to. And, I suppose then, about what I'm vaguely connected to. Urgh.

Did he snatch the food off your plate? There is more than one reason for thinking he might have...

Nah, he was on the end of a long table, there was about 10-12 of us.

Besides... do you really think any such baron makes it to my plate alive? I hold a very close attachment to my food. :D

Thanks for clarifying. The first image I had was more intimate. And horrifying

Sorry. But yeah, I've shook a few hands in this job that had that dirt on 'em. It's not great.

I was totally imagining a Lady & The Tramp episode. So disappointed / relieved that you didn't end the noodle with your face being bitten.

(Wait, are we still allowed to make Blazer-is-fat jokes, or has NY Daily News led me astray?)

you know, if we could spend as much time worrying about winning the next two world cups as we do trying to find fault with FIFA, I think we could do great things.

NOTHING, could help this situation more than winning. let justice play its course, and let US soccer have sole focus on winning.

any particular country winning changes nothing. the conspiracy isnt fifa vs the USA, its fifa vs the people of the world

Dany, I did not say any particular country. You are a very smart freshman, you'll understand a lot more in four years, and ten years after that, look out!!!

It's interesting to note that the Soviet Union won the 1960 European championship, and were in the finals of the event two out of the next three.

Within two years of the 1960 win, the Berlin wall was built, the soviets tested the largest man made nuclear devise ever, and the Cuban missile crisis all occurred.

Take from this what you will, but I see it as our patriotic duty to go to Russia in 2018 and perform at the highest level. There is so much at stake over these next eight years.
