DeAndre Yedlin
Timothy Chandler
Eric Lichaj
Let this list also be a reminder that everyone (insert Gary Oldman reference here) goes back to what I would consider their optimum positions, being that we have only just begun jockeying for World Cup 2018. Things could change, but I would prefer Yedlin to go back to focusing on right back play. He can be a real money guy there. I hope Tottenham agrees. Chandler still struggles for consistency, as does Lichaj to a lesser extent in a lower (but highly physical) league. Depending on how many candidates shape up on the left, these three have the potential ceiling to lock down this place on the clipboard.

barcelona liked fabian at RB, what do you think his optimal position is? will he still be a starter for us in 2018?
Fabian, Gideon, Geoff Cameron. It's all one mans fantasy, not up for debate or discussion, unless you like to talk to yourself.
@ Dany: At best, Johnson was on a long Barca list of fullbacks to consider... in the same window that he had already moved and they could have had him on a freebie. In other words, ummm, likely not even that.
To me, he is an attacking wide man that had a fairly vanilla World Cup at right back. A starter in 2018?
@ dikranovich: Oh, are we pretending I am the only one who prefers to play Johnson and Cameron in other spots? Cool, then I look even smarter and crazier for efficiently spreading the talent instead of pushing everyone short of the strikers to the back line for some dumb reason. Maybe we should play a 8-2-1?
Zelalem is not only not a US player at this time, he is not anywhere close to being a right back. Not even sure why you would mention him.
As for your last little BS snipe, out of us, there is exactly one person in this conversation willing to admit when he was wrong. That person is certainly not you. There is a different reason I neglect to respond to *your* comments in these threads and everyone knows it. Namaste.
Greg, I don't need you responding to my comments, because I'm only here to respond to yours. I'm not really sure what nameste means, but I really don't think you do either. The Dempsey own goal from several years back proved that you yourself have the difficulty admitting when you don't know what your talking about.
Big fat yawn.
Yedlin is definitely a fullback. At his very best overlapping into open space, dragging the opposing midfielders deep into there defensive half. Still a WIP defensively but he has improved immensly in the last year
