Calendar notes time!

CONCACAF has announced the dates for World Cup 2018 qualifying, and the USMNT will kick off their application for a berth this November with the hex set to begin almost exactly one year later.

Yup. It is almost already that time again.

The U/20 mini hex will be halfway over at halftime of the USA v Aruba game. These young guys need to use this game to gain some confidence and find some sort of flow. Gall didn't play in the last game, and he will be needed if USA plan on advancing.

Fortunately two of the three teams ahead of the USA, Jamaica and t&t, are due to play the Stars and Stripes over the next three games. Win and we move on, seven points from the next three games could be enough as well, but that would be cutting it close.

Advancement to the next round would see the USA taking on one of three teams from the other group. It is slated to be a game against either Canada, Honduras, or El Salvador.

USA have won two game recently against Honduras, and it would be a tougher matchup third time around. Canada looks sharp and would really be looking to advance. El Salvador offers the path of least resistance.

One in three, a lot like red October

Oh, and please, let's get Conor Donovan out there. It's ridiculous that he has not been on the pitch.

Dik: nice summary. Thanks

The moment of truth is rapidly approaching. This young team has a lot of weight on its shoulders. Missing out on u/23 in London was a blow for the program. This u/20 team missed out last time out, without an invite to the U/20 World Cup. No excuses, win from here on out, or heads must roll. There is no tomorrow, there is no tomorrow, there is no tomorrow!

We can relax for a little bit now, at least until Friday. Conor Donovan got the back.

Tommy Thompson dipsy do, dunkeroo. When a little guy hits a strong header in a youth tournament, you can know that guy is gonna be a player. 4-nil USA 30 in.

Was that Diego mardona, or Emerson hyyndman . No just kidding, but he just stole the ball, dribbled right down the field and knocked in a fifth, and now a 6th is on the board

Well, at halftime of the Aruba game, USA is certainly addressing their goal difference problem. Now we can have fun and see if we can keep 80% possession

Side note: with all the USMNT players coming to MLS, there wont be much of an americans abroad section anymore.
