This should be fun.

Ives and ESPN have already confirmed, but I will pile on to let you know Mikkel Diskerud will be unveiled as the new NYCFC signing, likely within the next hour. I am thinking the Lampard fiasco drove this charge to the front of the line, and yeah, that was probably smart. We all know how those business types like to change unwieldy conversations.

What I have said up to here is not much for news, but what I can reveal to you and you alone is the names of the two Greek clubs that were in until the end: PAOK and Panathinaikos. I am not yet certain that another MLS club further west than New York (really narrows it down for ya, huh?) poked their nose into this race late, but it seems there probably was.

Anyway... enjoy, tri-state area. I am sure you will.

UPDATE: Heh. Turns out they announced as I was typing this up.

Hey, just curious... do you see the names of those two Greek clubs from anyone else in the entire world?

is he DP, or isn't he? Sounds like no he is not.

Seems not, or they would say so. Probably just a bit below the line.

Glad he picked MLS. Much better than Norway or Celtic. Will be a good test or him.

Have you heard anything about the Soares to Verona deal? There was a report in Italy recently saying it wasn't happening.

I love yet another example of the way USMNT players respond to the moral leadership and vision of Jürgen Klinsmann. Of course in this case, we saw such creativity all over the field, so who needed to see him actually on he field? Not when we had Wondo and Davis!

Junior, geo-vinco, and Jozy. That would be a formidable threesome.
