Yeeeesssss.

While an ill Jozy Altidore sits out Sunderland hosting Liverpool, the Black Cats take a grand sum of two shots from Arkansas, one of their midfielders gets sent off and center forward Connor Wickham is pulled after 77 minutes having committed five handle turnovers in just 17 touches, let's turn attention to something a lot cooler: Star Wars-themed freakin' soccer uniforms designed by a Spanish lady genius. Yeah.

And, sure, we all knew the Darth Vader would be badass, but just try to convince me the Han Solo kit shown above would not also make a quite suitable if abstract USMNT uniform.

If the comics are more your cup, she also has those covered.

The chewbacca shirt soured the whole thing, and it was the first shirt. Boba fett is alright, and the shirts are real neat, if your riding in the Tour de France

New Balance designing the R2D2 kit is a kick in the pants. Especially since it's lopsided.

I have posted several times on several forums about Sunderland and their "Jozy" problem (which isn't a Jozy problem).
They have 3 rotations strikers who have 4, 2, 0 goals respectively, and a midfield who loves to shot from Arkansas, as mentioned. Their MF, Johnson has 4 goals as well.
Now unless you are going to concede that *all* of Sunderland's strikers suck, which they don't. (Jozy is better than Wickham, but Fletcher has more "goal" in him in terms of being a straight up poacher. Then you see the problem is with Sunderland in general, particularly the midfield who don't look too concerned with finding the strikers, and when they do the service is often shite.
My humble opinion.

Here is all the ugliness here. Wickham - most minutes played (among strikers), most shots, most shots per game, 2nd most 'bad touches per game' (Fletcher is worse). 2 goals 1 assist. That isn't exactly a top drawer striker, either... So unless you are saying Jozy and Fletcher and Wickham are poor. You have to shift some of the blame around. Like maybe the manager who never changes formation regardless of the opponent?

Or you could play EPL fantasy and see that this team is probably doing pretty decent for what they have. If you play fantasy it is easy to see that Rodwell has missed half the game and giaccherini has missed more than half the games. Their defense has had to fill holes. It's tough, and it's not all on Jozy, and Jozy could also have done more.

Anyone out there saying Jozy did all he could is being naive.

Leonardo Ulloa plays for Leicester and he has seven goal on the premiere league season. Leicester are bottom of the table, their best midfielder is like 40, and half their team is hurt also.

@ Dr. Jon:

I Have been saying this for 18 months now. And that is not to remove all blame form Altidore, it is simply to recognize that this team is a total shit show. Altidore is not and has never been their big problem, as evidenced by the excessively shambolic nature of their recent matches without him.

Definitely agree with you guys. Jozy is not blameless, but in retrospect they would have been better off in the long run being dropped last season, Jozy included (they would have kept him and rearranged the team around him or they would have sold him)

as far as sunderland fans go, most of them do indeed think that all 3 strikers are worthless

True, but perhaps "think" is a rather strong word...
